Starwood Hotels CFO says the hotel operator would be interested in acquiring an established hotel brand in Asia which would complement its global portfolio. The hotelier is looking for an "acceptable prize which would fit well with what we do. "Separately, CFO says there is new demand for hotels around the world that didn't exist 20 years ago and that Starwood is looking to expand its "under-penetrated brands." Starwood currently has 9 brands with over 863 hotels. And they are W Hotels, Sheraton, Fourpoints, Aloft, Luxury Collection, Le Meridien, Westin and Stregis the existing brands and company is looking to add more. Starwood's brands and hotels are rapidly growing globally and focusing on Asia Pacific where Starwood recently opened its first ever Resort in the Maldives at Fesdu island.
